MIRECO / sustainable development of refractories

It is our great pleasure to announce a new venture of our principal and leader in the field of refractories – the company RHI Magnesita.

By developing new technologies, concepts, and circular economy models, RHI Magnesita is strongly committed to sustainable development, with the key goal of reducing CO2 emissions and restoring and preserving the environment.

As a leader in the refractory industry towards more responsible business, and with over 100 years of experience, RHI Magnesita recognizes the great challenges the modern society and industry face, such as climate change and resource conservation.

Alongside the German company Horn & Co. Group, RHI Magnesita has formed MIRECO – a pioneer in the field of waste refractory materials management.

By providing individual recycling concepts tailored to refractory users, MIRECO aims to strengthen refractory recycling activities to significantly reduce the industrial carbon footprint.

In that regard, MIRECO offers a wide range of cooperation in this area:

•          The concept of recycling

•          Management of recycling centers

•          Sorting of materials

•          Disposal/responsible handling of waste products

•          Circular raw materials for refractories

Simultaneously, this concept provides our customers with raw materials obtained per our CERO WASTE idea, after which we develop circular raw materials for steelworks and metallurgy and, most importantly, carefully prepared, used refractory materials – either separately or in combination with commercially available primary raw materials.

This approach forms the basis for a wide range of raw material substitutions for metallurgical purposes: slag formation, slag fluxing, influence on slag composition and thermal covering agents, etc.

With this goal in mind, we are ready to offer a set of services for the treatment of waste refractory material and long-term cooperation in this field.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
